2016 is shaping up to be an exciting year for Alpha.

Get ready for the Alpha Film Series—an updated, relevant and engaging resource designed to take the audience on an epic journey exploring the basics of the Christian faith.

Launching on 14 April 2016, the Alpha Film Series is for anyone to run Alpha with and will be free for download.


Behind The Scenes


filming NickyRepackaged for today's audience, the Alpha Film Series is emotive, engaging and epic in scale and scope. Nicky Gumbel and two new presenters, Toby Flint and Gemma Hunt, will be walking us through the regular Alpha material in a way that everyone can relate to.

The episodes will feature inspiring stories and interviews from all around the world, as well as visual illustrations and motion graphics.

The Alpha Film Series will be launching globally on 14 April 2016, across several continents on the same day to create a wave of attention. Follow our hashtag #AlphaFilmSeries for more sneak peeks.

The Alpha Film Series will cover all the traditional content that the current Alpha materials do. There will be fifteen episodes (30 minutes each), one introduction to the Alpha day/weekend (10 minutes) as well as two training videos (30 minutes each).

Toby and Gemma on location We're pleased to introduce two of our presenters, Toby Flint and Gemma Hunt. Toby is a curate at Holy Trinity Brompton church in London and Gemma is a BAFTA award-winning TV presenter. Together with Nicky Gumbel, the pioneer of Alpha, they will be taking the audience on an epic journey exploring the Christian faith.

Watch out for the inspiring stories and interviews of people from across all denominations, all across the world, featured in the Alpha Film Series. These include:

Jackie Pullinger, one of the world's best-known missionaries, based in Hong Kong.
Cardinal Schönborn, well known in the Catholic Church globally for editing the Catechism of the Catholic Church, based in Austria. Father Raniero Cantalamessa, preacher to the papal household, based in Italy.
Jose Henriquez Gonzalez, one of the thirty-three miners trapped for sixty-nine days at the San Jose mine, based in Chile.
Ugo Monye, former English international rugby union player, based in the United Kingdom and many others.
